Whether your child is picking up a golf club for the first time or preparing for competitive PGA Jr. League matches, we offer programs designed to help juniors learn, play, improve, and create lifelong memories.

PGA Jr. League
Learn. Practice. Play. Compete.
PGA Jr. League is the nation’s premier team golf experience for junior golfers. Players wear team jerseys, compete alongside friends, and develop skills through fun, team-based formats.
Village Green offers programs for both recreational and competitive players.
Spring Season (March–May)
Our spring season features practices, team development, and matches against local clubs throughout Sarasota and Manatee Counties.

Fall Season (September–November)
Our fall programming expands opportunities for junior golfers through two pathways:
Recreational League
Designed for newer players who want to learn and play in a fun environment.

Competition Team
Designed for experienced players seeking higher-level competition.

New for Fall: 9U PGA Jr. League
Our youngest golfers now have a dedicated program built specifically for ages 9 and under.

Summer Scramble Series
Summer Golf Made Simple
Our Summer Scramble Series keeps juniors playing throughout the summer months in a relaxed, fun environment.
Players compete in two-person scramble teams over nine holes while earning points toward a season-long standings race.

Pin Seeker Achievement Program
A Journey of Improvement
The Village Green Pin Seeker Program is our year-round junior golf achievement pathway.
Rather than focusing solely on lessons, Pin Seeker encourages players to get on the golf course, learn to score, and celebrate measurable improvement.
Players advance through progressively longer yardages by demonstrating their ability to shoot a target score from each level.
Pin Seeker Levels
Red Level – 25 Yards
The perfect starting point for beginners.
White Level – 50 Yards
Players begin learning short-game strategy and scoring.
Blue Level – 75 Yards
Increased distance introduces more club selection and course management.
Green Level – 100 Yards
Players continue building confidence while preparing for full-course play.

Youth on Course
Golf for $5
Village Green proudly participates in Youth on Course.
Eligible juniors can play golf for just $5 at participating courses nationwide, including Village Green.
This program provides one of the most affordable opportunities available for young golfers to gain real on-course experience.

Erin Martin, PGA
Coach | Program Director | Junior Golf Coordinator
Erin oversees Village Green’s junior golf programming, family events, communications, and player development initiatives.
Her passion is creating welcoming environments where families can experience golf together and where young players can build confidence both on and off the course.
Sean Martin, PGA
Instructor | Co-Owner | Director of Golf
Sean Martin brings more than 20 years of coaching and teaching experience to Village Green Golf Club.
His coaching philosophy focuses on athletic movement, strong fundamentals, understanding ball flight, and helping each student reach their personal goals.
Sean’s experience includes leadership roles at premier clubs throughout the country and coaching golfers of all ages and skill levels.
Doug Mochrie, PGA
Doug Mochrie, PGA, brings decades of teaching, coaching, and competitive golf experience to Village Green’s junior golf programs. Throughout his career, he has successfully developed junior golfers of all skill levels, including players pursuing competitive and school golf opportunities. Doug previously directed and supported junior golf initiatives at Bent Tree Golf & Country Club, where he built a reputation for creating engaging programs that helped young golfers learn and grow.
Known for his creativity, patience, and wealth of golf knowledge, Doug combines sound fundamentals with fun challenges, games, and on-course learning experiences that keep juniors motivated and excited about improving. His passion for developing young players helps create a positive environment where golfers can build confidence, skills, and a lifelong love for the game.
