Meet the Coaches – Sean Martin & Erin Martin
The Village Green Golf Club PGA Jr. League team is proud to be part of the First Tee of Sarasota/Manatee. Our coaches, Sean and Erin Martin, are both PGA Professionals with more than 35 years of combined teaching and coaching experience.
Before taking ownership of Village Green, Sean and Erin built and led several highly successful junior golf programs at Capital City Club, Atlanta Athletic Club, and with U.S. Kids Golf. Their passion for junior development is at the heart of everything they do. They understand the importance of making golf fun and approachable, while also reinforcing solid technique and instilling lifelong skills that players can carry with them both on and off the course.
Their mission is simple: make golf fun while building strong fundamentals, confidence, and lifelong skills.
Spring 2026 PGA Jr. League
PGA Jr. League is a fun, social, and inclusive opportunity for boys and girls ages 8–13
(Players may not turn 14 before July 31, 2026.)
The league uses a two-player scramble format that encourages teamwork, confidence, and learning in a positive team environment. Players wear official home and away jerseys and compete with friends — just like other youth sports.
Village Green practices combine small-group class-style instruction with on-course team play, ensuring juniors receive individual attention while gaining real-world experience.

I really like the addition of the Pin Seeker progression. It makes the program feel less intimidating for young players and gives parents a clear picture of how their child will gradually build confidence before tackling the full holes.

Pin Seeker Progression
One of the unique features of the Village Green 9U Program is the integration of our Village Green Pin Seeker Achievement Program.
Rather than immediately playing full-length holes, players will gradually progress through age-appropriate yardages as their skills develop.
Early Season
Players will begin from our Pin Seeker yardages:
- Red Level – 25 Yards
- White Level – 50 Yards
This allows young golfers to experience success, learn how to score, and build confidence in a real on-course environment.
Mid to Late Season
As players become more comfortable, teams will gradually move back to longer distances and eventually play the full three-hole course setup.
Championship Course Setup
Players will finish the season competing on:
- Hole 10 – 100 Yards
- Hole 11 – 140 Yards
- Hole 12 – 160 Yards
This progression helps players develop skills naturally while ensuring that every participant can contribute to their team’s success.
Team Competition
Players will be assigned to PGA Jr. League-style teams and compete in weekly scramble matches.
The scramble format allows teammates to work together, encourages faster play, and creates a positive environment where players of all abilities can contribute.
Season standings will be tracked throughout the fall, with an emphasis on teamwork, sportsmanship, and improvement.
Season Finale Celebration
The final week of the season will be dedicated to fun games and celebration.
Activities may include:
- Putting Challenge
- Chipping Challenge
